Network Topology

 Star Topology

Star topology is a network topology in which each network component is physically connected to a central node such as a router, hub or switch. In a star topology, the central hub acts like a server and the connecting nodes act like clients.

In our cyber cafe, all of our devices will be connected directly to the switch, including the Gaming Desktop, Video Game Console and VR Equipment. This setup will increase the overall security, performance and privacy of our cyber cafe.

Advantage
The reason we used star topology in our cyber cafe is because:

Centralized Management
Having a central switch makes it easy for the network administrator to monitor, control traffic, allocate bandwidth, and manage resources effectively from the central point all. This centralized control simplifies network administration tasks.

Ease of Installation and Maintenance
Setting up a star topology is relatively simple, the configuration of a star network involves connecting each device to the central hub. Additionally, if a computer or cable has issues, it can be isolated and addressed without affecting the entire network. This ease of maintenance is crucial for the smooth operation of a cyber cafe.

Scalability
Our cyber cafes can accommodate varying numbers of users at different times. Star topology allows for easy scalability by simply connecting or disconnecting nodes from the central hub without affecting the overall network performance. This flexibility is beneficial for the dynamic environment of a cyber cafe.

Security
The direct connection between each computer and the switch enhances the security of the network. Data is less likely to be intercepted by unauthorized users since communication is more direct, reducing the risk of eavesdropping or data breaches.

Performance
In a cyber cafe, where multiple users are accessing the network simultaneously, the dedicated connection between each computer and the switch reduces data collisions. This can contribute to better network performance and a smoother user experience.
